The Orchid School (TOS) is a CBSE-affiliated, English-medium, co-educational school located in Baner, Pune, and professionally managed by Pradnya Niketan Education Society (PNES). It is a standalone institution with no other branches and offers a continuous educational journey from the foundational years through Grade XII. Its vision, “Locally Rooted, Globally Competent Education,” reflects an approach that combines strong academic foundations with the skills, values and experiences required for students to navigate an evolving world.

What the School Offers

The Orchid School offers a holistic and integrated learning experience aligned with CBSE, NEP, NCERT and NCF guidelines. Rather than focusing solely on academic achievement, its curriculum brings together knowledge acquisition, skill development, value formation, self-expression and creativity. Learning is designed to move beyond rote memorisation towards understanding, application and real-world connections.

The school provides age-appropriate learning programmes across Pre-Primary, Primary, Middle, Secondary and Senior Secondary levels. Its teaching methodologies include experiential and activity-based learning, projects, exploration and research, experiments, problem-solving, debate, collaborative learning, technology integration, cross-curricular learning, art, music, drama and physical education.

At the Secondary and Senior Secondary level, students have access to a broad range of academic subjects along with skill-based and co-scholastic choices. Grade XI–XII offerings include subjects across Science, Commerce, Humanities, Mathematics, Psychology, Sociology, Geography, Political Science, Painting, Physical Education and Informatics Practices, among others. Learning Beyond Academics

An important feature of TOS is its emphasis on experiences beyond conventional classroom instruction. Students receive opportunities for field visits, hands-on projects, internships, university and career exposure, expert interactions, community projects, leadership programmes, student-led clubs, research and discussions, competitions and inter-school events. Initiatives such as InspireX, Tedx, Youth Summit, TED-Ed Club, Eco Club, History Club and other student-led programmes provide platforms for students to take ownership of their learning and enhances leadership skills.

The school also focuses on developing 21st-century and future-readiness competencies, including problem-solving, analytical thinking, innovation, creativity, communication, interpersonal skills, technology skills, global citizenship, ethical reasoning, leadership and an appreciation of cultural diversity.
